Contributions to the Development of a General Methodology for Innovation and Forecasting

    Get PDF
The paper presents authors’ contributions to the achievement of a first variant of the innovation and forecasting methodology. The various tools of TRIZ methodology (laws of systems development set for technical systems, the matrix of contradictions, the 40 inventive principles, the 39 parameters, Su-Field analysis, the method of the 9 screens etc) are already available, or can be customised to the specific type of the organization system. The TRIZ methodology for economics was embedded in a more general methodology for innovation and forecasting. The eight laws of evolution systems were customised to economics. The authors also make a comparative analysis of the technical TRIZ matrix to the company management matrix. Based on the analysis performed, it can be concluded that a general methodology can be prepared for innovation and forecasting, making use of TRIZ methodology, by customising some classical instruments of the technical field, and bringing in other specific economic tools.innovation, forecasting, matrix, methodology, TRIZ.

A NEW APPROACH METHOD OF COMPANY VALUATION

    Get PDF
The authors present in this paper the results of a research initiated in the field of company valuation, that is a current activity in Romania, generated by the privatization process and by other processes specific to market economy. The results of this research allowed us to develop this field at the level that exceeds the achievements, both in Romania and in Europe. We refer to the possibility to apply the subtle sets to the valuation of goodwill elements that enhance a company’s value. The evaluation of such elements is currently made by means of an accounting approach, which does not respond to the requirements of informing the future buyers.fuzzy theory, subtle sets theory, goodwill, badwill

Application of Discrete Sets in the Risk Theory

    Get PDF
The paper presents an application of the fuzzy sets theory and of the subtle sets in order to evaluate the bankruptcy risk of an organization. The main influence factors of the two antithetical concepts: the gain and the risk of an organization are set. Then, the membership degree of firm activity to gain, respectively to risk is evaluated and the comparison is made. Thus, it results either a favorable condition or a risk of bankruptcy. A numerical application is presented, with a view to understand the described method.systematic risk; fuzzy theory; dynamic index; average index; discrete sets theory

Quad Performances and Manoeuvrability of TWQH platform

    Get PDF
Accurate dynamic modelling of the Tandem Wing Quadcopter Hybrid (TWQH) platform is becoming increasingly important, as strict requirements are progressively being imposed on the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles) control system in the transition phase from vertical to level flight and vice versa. This work aims to present preliminary design performances in the steady and manoeuvring flight of the platform thrusted by only four rotors directed upward. The aerodynamic effects of tandem wings make a significant contribution to the evaluation of performance, controllability and manoeuvrability in hovering and low speed phase. More specifically, steady, level, symmetrical pull-up and coordinated turns approaches of the quad model are considered and the results obtained in the simulation study are presented and discussed

Quality - a Factor for Competitiveness Improvement for Small and Medium Enterprises

The impact of quality management on microeconomic systems is major. Theintegration into the European Economic Area requires a comprehensive processof compliance to European policies and practices, including implementation ofquality management system. The dominance of the small and mediumenterprises sector in the economy requires a specific action framework, thequality having a fundamental role. Only those operators who have implementedand certified a quality management system can valorize on their goods andservices in the European market. Acting on the potentials` sphere, qualitybecomes a crucial resource for economic success. In this context, the authorsaim to analyze the impact of implementation and certification of qualitymanagement on the progress of Romania small and medium enterprises in thecontext of diversification and globalization of the emphasis of European andworld markets

The potential of permanent gullies in Europe as geomorphosites

Geotourism is a useful way to educate societies in the field of geomorphology and natural hazards. Geosites, including geomorphosites, represent the basis for the development of this type of tourism. This study describes twelve representative gully regions within nine European countries. The characteristics of 42 permanent gullies, gully systems and badland landscapes are presented and a geotouristic assessment of these gullies was made, based on scientific, educational, functional and touristic indicators. This assessment demonstrates a large difference between the selected gully sites, particularly with regard to functional and tourist values. The geotouristic potential of gullies is the highest in Italy and Spain and the lowest in Romania and Latvia. In some countries, permanent gullies are not regarded as geotouristic attractions at all, while in others they constitute a significant element of their tourism development strategy. Based on the analysis of scientific values of the gully sites, educational lessons to be learned were identified that are mainly related to i) gullies as a geological window, ii) present-day geomorphological processes, and iii) stages of historical gully erosion reflecting past human-environment interactions. These must be part of a broader strategy for the development of geotourism in gully regions. Gullies are potential geosites within existing or planned geoparks. Values of gullies for other forms of tourism (active, cultural, nature), should be also emphasized

Measuring, modelling and managing gully erosion at large scales: A state of the art

    Get PDF
Soil erosion is generally recognized as the dominant process of land degradation. The formation and expansion of gullies is often a highly significant process of soil erosion. However, our ability to assess and simulate gully erosion and its impacts remains very limited. This is especially so at regional to continental scales. As a result, gullying is often overlooked in policies and land and catchment management strategies. Nevertheless, significant progress has been made over the past decades. Based on a review of >590 scientific articles and policy documents, we provide a state-of-the-art on our ability to monitor, model and manage gully erosion at regional to continental scales. In this review we discuss the relevance and need of assessing gully erosion at regional to continental scales (Section 1); current methods to monitor gully erosion as well as pitfalls and opportunities to apply them at larger scales (section 2); field-based gully erosion research conducted in Europe and European Russia (section 3); model approaches to simulate gully erosion and its contribution to catchment sediment yields at large scales (section 4); data products that can be used for such simulations (section 5); and currently existing policy tools and needs to address the problem of gully erosion (section 6). Section 7 formulates a series of recommendations for further research and policy development, based on this review. While several of these sections have a strong focus on Europe, most of our findings and recommendations are of global significance.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
